Dispatch Team Leader

We are seeking a highly organised and motivated Dispatch Team Leader to oversee our dispatch department and lead a team responsible for picking, packing and shipping customer orders across both brands.
The Role
The Dispatch Team Leader will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the dispatch operation, ensuring all orders are processed accurately, efficiently and within agreed deadlines. The successful candidate will lead by example, maintain high standards of quality and productivity, and continuously seek opportunities to improve operational performance.
Key ResponsibilitiesTeam Leadership
- Lead, motivate and develop the dispatch team.
- Manage daily workload allocation to ensure operational targets are achieved.
- Conduct team briefings, training and performance reviews.
- Support recruitment, onboarding and development of team members.
- Promote a positive, safe and productive working environment.
Dispatch Operations
- Oversee the accurate picking, packing and dispatch of customer orders.
- Ensure all orders are dispatched within agreed service level agreements.
- Monitor daily dispatch volumes and productivity levels.
- Coordinate courier collections and shipments.
- Investigate and resolve dispatch errors, shortages and delivery issues.
- Ensure packaging standards are maintained and brand presentation remains exceptional.
Stock & Inventory Control
- Monitor stock availability and communicate shortages promptly.
- Support stock counts and inventory accuracy.
- Ensure products are stored correctly and stock rotation procedures are followed.
- Minimise wastage and reduce operational errors.
Quality & Compliance
- Ensure all food safety, hygiene and health & safety procedures are followed.
- Maintain a clean, organised and compliant dispatch environment.
- Support audits and operational inspections where required.
- Ensure all team members adhere to company policies and procedures.
Performance & Continuous Improvement
- Monitor and report on dispatch KPIs including productivity, accuracy and order fulfilment.
- Identify opportunities to improve processes and efficiencies.
- Work closely with production, customer service and management teams to ensure smooth operations.
- Assist with planning for peak trading periods, seasonal demand and promotional activity.
Skills & ExperienceEssential
- Previous experience in a dispatch, warehouse or fulfilment environment.
- Experience supervising or leading a team.
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Good communication and leadership skills.
- Competent IT skills and experience using warehouse or order management systems.
Desirable
- Experience within food manufacturing, e-commerce or FMCG sectors.
- Knowledge of courier systems and shipping platforms.
- Understanding of stock control and inventory management.
- Food Safety and Health & Safety qualifications.

Working Hours
Full-time position with flexibility required during peak trading periods, weekends and seasonal events.
