About the role and the team
The Apprentice Property Administrator role is an excellent opportunity to learn about Property, Regeneration and Climate Action alongside local government.
With a wide range of responsibilities, the postholder will need to provide high quality customer service to residents and administrative support to the property team. The team includes the following areas Maintenance and Compliance, Asset Management (leases & licensing), Major Capital Investment, Regeneration and Climate Action.
The Apprentice will be supported through their training and upon completion will have a good understanding of local government and property administration. It will leave you in an ideal position to progress your career within local government either at Mole Valley or at other authorities.
The position is full time with one day a week (minimum of 6 hours) is to be dedicated for study towards the Business Administration Level 3 qualification with our onsite provider Waverley Training Services (WTS).
What we are looking for from you
- You will be enthusiastic about undertaking a varied range of administrative tasks within the Property team, supporting property officers and other colleagues within the authority.
- You will provide a high level of customer service to residents and other officers within the Council
- Be approachable and have good inter-personal skills.
Eligibility requirements
GCSE passes (4-9) in Maths and English or a Level 2 Business Administration Qualification with functional skills in Maths and English.
A keen interest in administrative work (previous experience is not required).

Local Government Reorganisation (LGR)
Mole Valley District Council is preparing for a major transformation through Local Government Reorganisation (LGR) which will come into effect on 1 April 2027. The aim of LGR is to create a more streamlined, efficient and locally responsive system of government that strengthens public services. As a result of these changes, Surrey County Council and the 11 District and Borough Councils — including Mole Valley District Council — will be replaced by two new unitary councils: East Surrey and West Surrey. Mole Valley District Council will become part of the new East Surrey Unitary Council and this authority will be responsible for all services in the eastern part of the county.
As we move toward LGR, we want to reassure all applicants that roles linked to Mole Valley District Council will continue beyond the transition period and arrangements are in place to ensure that staff will transfer on existing terms and conditions to the new East Surrey Council.
