Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Saw Operator to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating various saws , drills , punches , milling equipment and fabrication equipment to cut and prepare materials with precision. This role requires a strong understanding of mechanical processes, safety procedures, and the ability to work efficiently within a fast-paced environment. The Saw Operator plays a vital part in ensuring the quality and accuracy of our products, contributing to the overall success of our production line.
Responsibilities
- Set up and operate different types of saws to cut materials such as sheet , section metal and other fabrication components.
- Measure and mark materials accurately using hand tools and basic maths skills to ensure precise cuts.
- Perform grinding, and assembly tasks as required to complete fabrication projects.
- Use mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot equipment issues and perform routine maintenance or adjustments.
- Handle tooling and sheet metal with care, ensuring safety standards are maintained at all times.
- Read and interpret technical drawings, diagrams, and specifications for accurate fabrication.
- Maintain a clean and organised work area, adhering to health and safety regulations.
- Assist with quality checks to ensure finished products meet specified standards.
Experience
- Previous experience in fabrication, grinding, welding or similar manufacturing roles is preferred.
- Familiarity with sheet metal work and section steels and hand tools, tooling, and basic mathematical skills is advantageous.
- Experience with assembly processes and mechanical knowledge will be considered a plus.
- Candidates should demonstrate good organisational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
