Overview

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Tyre Fitter / Wheel Aligner to join our automotive service team. This role involves performing tyre fitting, wheel alignment, and related maintenance tasks to ensure vehicle safety and optimal performance. The ideal candidate will possess mechanical knowledge, be comfortable working with hand and power tools, and provide excellent customer service. This position offers an opportunity to develop technical skills within a professional environment committed to quality and safety.

Duties

Remove and replace tyres on various vehicle types using appropriate hand and power tools
Conduct wheel alignments to manufacturer specifications, ensuring precise adjustments for optimal vehicle handling
Inspect tyres and wheels for damage, wear, or defects, recommending repairs or replacements as necessary
Perform routine maintenance tasks on equipment and tools used in tyre fitting and wheel alignment processes
Assist customers by explaining services performed and providing professional advice on tyre care and maintenance
Use specialised equipment to balance tyres and ensure proper installation for safe driving conditions
Maintain a clean and organised work area, adhering to health and safety standards at all times
Lift heavy tyres or wheels safely, following proper lifting techniques to prevent injury

Qualifications

Mechanical knowledge or experience in automotive repair or tyre fitting preferred but not essential; training will be provided for the right candidate
Proficiency with hand tools such as wrenches, screwdrivers, and tyre levers
Experience using power tools relevant to tyre fitting or wheel alignment is advantageous
Ability to perform routine maintenance on tools and equipment effectively
Strong customer service skills with a professional attitude towards clients’ needs
Capable of heavy lifting of tyres or wheels weighing up to 20kg safely and efficiently
Good organisational skills with attention to detail in completing tasks accurately
Willingness to learn new skills within a fast-paced environment
