Job Summary

LXP Specialists are seeking a dedicated Maths Teacher to support students with special educational needs. The successful candidate will design and deliver tailored Maths lessons upto GCSE, fostering an inclusive learning environment that promotes academic growth and social development. This role involves working closely with children in Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4. The ideal applicant will possess strong behavioural management skills and experience in specialised education settings, ensuring each child's individual needs are met effectively. The successful candidate must be a qualified teacher and hold QTS or equivalent. If you are an ECT you must demonstrate your desire to work within the Special Educational Needs sector.

Duties

Develop and implement customised Maths/numeracy lesson plans suited to the diverse needs of SEN students
Deliver engaging lessons that integrate communication skills development.
Utilise behaviour management strategies to foster positive behaviour and create a safe, supportive classroom environment.
Collaborate with colleagues, therapists, carers and parents to monitor progress and adapt teaching methods accordingly.
Mentor students to build confidence and independence through personalised guidance and support.
Assist with behaviour management plans and behavioural assessments to promote optimal learning outcomes.
Maintain accurate records of student progress and communicate effectively with all stakeholders regarding developmental milestones.

Experience

Proven experience in teaching or tutoring within special education settings or working with children with additional needs.
Knowledge of speech therapy techniques, applied behaviour analysis (ABA), and behaviour management strategies.
Experience working with children within a Secondary or Further Education SEN setting
Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with colleagues, parents, and external specialists.
