The Occupational Therapy Service is a dynamic team delivering Strengths-Based Care Act assessments whilst also contributing to the Prevent, Reduce and Delay agenda.
The service will include Team Managers, Senior Practitioners, Occupational Therapists (OT) and Occupational Therapy Assessors Staff will provide assessment and provision functions across:

Area Teams in both North and South

Major Adaptations Team
The role:
-
The Occupational Therapist will complete strength based assessments for people with disabilities within the City Council’s eligibility criteria, applying the Care Act 2014 and other relevant legislation.

Establish partnerships with people with disabilities and carers (including young carers), actively using consultation and participation
-
The Occupational Therapist will recommend, demonstrate and organise the supply of equipment and structural adaptations to meet the assessed need

To work collaboratively with other professionals, statutory, voluntary, community resources and other stakeholders to ensure the best possible services are provided for people and their carers within available resources

The Occupational Therapist will manage a diverse workload within Adult Social Care priorities and City Council policies

Utilise appropriate training and development opportunities, participating in your own professional development in line with criteria set out by the Allied Health Professionals Council
