Overview
We are seeking a motivated and skilled Self Employed Painter and Decorator to join our dynamic team. This role offers the flexibility of working independently while delivering high-quality painting and decorating services across various projects. As a self-employed professional, you will be responsible for transforming spaces with precision, creativity, and professionalism. Your expertise will help clients achieve their vision, whether it’s refreshing interiors or enhancing exteriors, all while maintaining excellent communication and safety standards.
Duties
- Prepare surfaces thoroughly by cleaning, sanding, filling, and priming to ensure a smooth finish.
- Apply paints, varnishes, wallpapers, and other decorative finishes with attention to detail and quality.
- Interpret project specifications and client requests to deliver tailored decorating solutions.
- Manage your own schedule, ensuring timely completion of projects while maintaining high standards.
- Use appropriate tools and techniques for construction painting, including brushes, rollers, spray equipment, and scaffolding when necessary.
- Maintain clear communication with clients regarding project progress, timelines, and any adjustments needed.
- Ensure all work complies with health and safety regulations, including safe handling of materials and equipment.
- Drive to various job sites using your own vehicle, ensuring punctuality and reliability for each project.
Experience
- Proven experience in construction painting and decorating with a strong portfolio of completed projects.
- Valid driving license with reliable transportation to reach diverse job sites efficiently.
- Excellent communication skills in English to understand client needs and explain work processes clearly.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while managing multiple projects effectively.
- Knowledge of health and safety standards relevant to painting and decorating tasks.
- Familiarity with different types of paints, finishes, wallpapers, and surface preparation techniques.
- Prior experience working as a self-employed tradesperson or contractor is highly desirable.
