An overview of the role
Works under guidance to deliver non-strategic aspects of the product role. Supports discovery, backlog quality, and release readiness, while learning how strategy translates into customer and business value.
Your key responsibilities

Discovery support: Assist with customer interviews, data analysis, and persona/JTBD refinement.
- Backlog hygiene: Draft and refine user stories with acceptance criteria; ensure Definition of Ready/Done adherence.
- Execution support: Help set sprint goals; coordinate demos; capture feedback and update backlog.
- Quality & NFRs: Ensure basic non-functional requirements are captured; help track defects and test coverage.
- Metrics basics: Track simple flow and usage metrics (lead/cycle time, activation signals).
- Enablement: Draft release notes; support documentation and internal training.
Collaboration & Stakeholders
Collaborates with Engineering, Design, Data/Analytics, Sales, Marketing, Customer Success, Support, Finance, Legal, and Security. Operates a shared cadence of Quarterly (strategy/OKRs), Monthly (performance & market review), Bi-weekly (planning/review/retro), and Continuous (customer touchpoints, risk tracking).
Decision Rights & Success Measures
Decision Rights: Contributes recommendations within established guardrails; decisions reviewed by Product Manager/Head of Product.
Success Measures: Backlog quality, predictable delivery support, accurate documentation, and learning velocity.
What you'll need to succeed
Qualifications and Experience
Early-career product experience or adjacent roles (BA/UX/QA/CS).
Basic understanding of agile delivery and user story writing.
Strong communication skills and curiosity for customer problems.
Comfort with data basics (funnels, simple dashboards).
Domain Experience relevant to value stream
Acquire: Proven experience working with API's, including designing and integrating API's, error handling, performance optimisation and maintaining API documentation.
Distribute: Proven experience managing or delivering products that support insurance distribution, including broker and aggregator channels. Experience of working with partners including brokers, MGA's or comparison platforms.
Serve – Back Office workflows: Strong understanding of Policy Administration Systems and their role within the insurance lifecycle including NB, MTA, Rnls, Claims, data enrichment and financial transactions.
Serve – Payment Lens: Proven experience delivering API driven payment integrations with Third Party payment providers along with an understanding of payment workflows including settlement and reconciliation. Familiar with payment security and compliance requirements including PCI-DSS.
