Atun Kimya UK has recently been established to facilitate entry for our products to the UK market. This is a unique opportunity to join a new business at an exciting time and contribute significantly to its growth and development. The successful candidate will have the chance to help develop the UK laboratory operations at our new state of the art facility in Birmingham, identify and develop R&D projects, and build essential relationships with key customers.
Key Tasks
- Prepare, test and analyse chemical samples using approved analytical methods (primarily using ICP OES) according to standard operating procedures.
- Record all analyses results accurately and report significant findings, unexpected deviations or system/process/equipment failures to the line manager.
- Report all finalised results to customers (internal and external) within the agreed timeframe and in the agreed formats.
- Ensure all laboratory equipment remains fully operational and schedule any preventative maintenance or external assessments/calibrations as determined by the manufacturer or regulatory guidance.
- Handle, store and dispose of all chemicals safely in line with internal procedures and regulatory requirements (e.g. COSHH, UK REACH).
- Arrange for all collections of samples from customers within the agreed timeframe.
- Ensure that the laboratory and equipment is cleaned daily after use and in accordance with any accreditation requirements and internal procedures.
- Identify any opportunities for specific R&D projects and deliver such approved projects as required.
- Manage stock levels of chemicals and consumable items to ensure continued operation of the laboratory.
- Maintain the security and integrity of the company and customer information at all times.
Requirements
Essential
- Degree in Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Materials Science or similar
- Experience of working/operating in a laboratory environment
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to producing accurate, reliable data
- Self-starter with the ability to organise and manage multiple activities
- Excellent communication skills and ability to interpret results effectively to customers
- Familiarity with all basic MS Office applications
Desirable
- Familiarity and experience with operation of ICP-OES
- Interest in development of self beyond the boundaries of the current role
- Willingness to engage in all aspects of the business to promote growth
Travel
The successful candidate will be required initially to spend 1 week training at our production facility in Turkey. Other travel may be required periodically to customer sites in the UK, industry events in the UK and Europe and to the production facility in Turkey.
Pay: £25,000.00-£30,000.00 per year
