Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Fire Stopper to take lead within the department.
As the lead of Fire Stopping, you will be responsible for overseeing and carrying out the installation, inspection, and maintenance of passive fire protection systems across commercial, industrial, and residential projects. The role includes supervising fire stopping teams, ensuring compliance with fire safety regulations, maintaining high workmanship standards, and delivering projects safely and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and supervise fire stopping operatives on site
- Read and interpret construction drawings and fire stopping specifications
- Ensure all works comply with current fire safety regulations and manufacturer guidelines
- Complete site inspections and quality assurance checks
- Maintain accurate records, installation reports, and photographic evidence
- Coordinate with site managers, contractors, and clients
- Conduct toolbox talks and promote a strong health and safety culture
- Manage materials, tools, and site resources effectively
- Support training and development of junior operatives
- Identify and resolve site issues efficiently
- Ensure projects are completed on time and to the required standard
Essential Requirements:
- Proven experience in passive fire protection / fire stopping
- Previous supervisory or team leader experience
- Knowledge of fire safety regulations and compliance standards
- Ability to read technical drawings and specifications
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- Blue Skilled Worker CSCS Card (Within Fire Stopping)
- Full UK driving licence
- Good understanding of health and safety procedures
Desirable Qualifications
- NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Passive Fire Protection (Or Similar)
