Job Overview

MHE competence, training compliance, racking safety and operational support.

Here at FIEGE, we are currently recruiting for an MHE Trainer / Racking Inspector to support our Site operations. The successful applicant will be responsible for ensuring MHE training and competency standards are consistently maintained across the Site, delivering training and assessments for Reach Truck, Counterbalance and PPT in accordance with RTITB and company standards.

The role will also be responsible for conducting routine racking inspections in line with applicable SEMA guidance and Site procedures, identifying and escalating any damage or safety concerns.

The successful applicant will also be required to operate MHE, including Reach Truck equipment, where necessary to support operational requirements and maintain practical competence.

Core Responsibilities

Train and assess employees on Reach, Counterbalance and PPT.
Maintain the MHE Training Matrix and all associated records.
Conduct refresher and reassessment training.
Support MHE incident investigations and retraining.
Deliver relevant MHE/warehouse safety training.
Conduct routine racking inspections across the Site.
Identify and record damaged or unsafe racking.
Categorise and escalate defects in line with the Site's racking inspection procedure.
Maintain accurate racking inspection records.
Immediately escalate Red Risk / serious racking damage to the Operations Manager/Site Manager and ensure the affected area is controlled appropriately.
Support the coordination of repairs and follow-up inspections.
Ensure racking inspection processes comply with the applicable SEMA guidance and HSG76 requirements.
Support general warehouse safety and compliance activities.

Core Competencies & Skills

Essential

Proven experience delivering MHE training and assessments within a warehouse or distribution environment.
Current and recognised MHE Instructor/Examiner qualification, preferably RTITB.
Competence and experience in training Reach Truck, Counterbalance and PPT.
Relevant MHE operating experience, with a minimum of 2 years' practical experience preferred.
Strong understanding of Health & Safety, safe systems of work and warehouse compliance requirements.
Experience conducting racking inspections and identifying damage, defects and potential safety risks.
Strong knowledge of warehouse racking systems and relevant SEMA guidance and HSG76.
Excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills, with the ability to train and assess individuals effectively.
Strong attention to detail and the ability to identify and appropriately escalate safety concerns.
Good organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage training schedules, inspections and records.
Ability to work independently while also working effectively with Operations and Management teams.
Reliable, professional and safety-focused, with the confidence to challenge unsafe practices.
Comfortable working at height where required as part of the role.
Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office and the ability to maintain accurate electronic records.

Desirable

SEMA Approved Rack Inspector (SARI) qualification.
Previous experience completing formal racking inspections within a large warehouse or distribution centre.
Experience maintaining an MHE Training Matrix and managing training compliance.
Experience supporting MHE incident investigations, retraining and competency reassessment.
Experience creating or reviewing SOPs, Work Instructions and Safe Systems of Work.
Experience working within a high-volume e-commerce, FMCG or logistics environment.
