About the Role
We are looking for a highly driven B2B Sales Development Representative to help us win new mid-market and corporate customers across the UK.
This is a specialist outbound sales role focused on opening conversations with senior decision-makers, including Managing Directors, Finance Directors, Operations Directors, Procurement Managers and business owners.
Your role will be to make high-quality outbound calls, identify suitable prospects, handle objections, book qualified meetings, request energy bills or contract information, and create real opportunities for our senior consultants.
This is not a basic call centre role. Energy is a competitive market and many prospects are used to poor-quality sales calls. We need someone who can cut through that noise with confidence, intelligence, polish and persistence.
We want someone commercially sharp, money-motivated and hungry to win.
Key Responsibilities
- Make outbound B2B calls to mid-market and corporate prospects
- Speak confidently with senior decision-makers across finance, operations, procurement and management
- Book qualified meetings for senior consultants
- Request energy bills, contract details and renewal information where appropriate
- Identify whether a prospect is a strong fit based on business size, sector, energy usage and contract position
- Handle objections around existing brokers, suppliers, timing, lack of interest and energy fatigue
- Research companies before calling to improve relevance and call quality
- Follow up prospects by phone and email
- Maintain accurate CRM notes, outcomes and next actions
- Work to agreed call, conversation, bill-request and qualified-opportunity targets
- Continuously improve your call approach, objection handling and market knowledge
What We Are Looking For
- Proven experience in B2B telesales, appointment setting, outbound sales, recruitment, lead generation or similar
- Confident speaking to senior business decision-makers
- Extremely polished verbal communication and excellent spoken English
- Strong resilience and the ability to handle rejection
- High levels of energy, discipline and personal drive
- Comfortable making a high volume of outbound calls
- Commercially aware and able to understand business pain points
- Organised and accurate with CRM notes and follow-ups
- Intelligent, coachable and able to learn technical terminology quickly
- Target-driven and motivated by performance-based earnings
- Professional, credible and consultative on the phone
Energy experience is useful but not essential. The most important qualities are confidence, resilience, intelligence, professionalism and a proven ability to create conversations with senior people.
