We have an exciting opportunity for a Paramedic to join our Primary Care team at HMP Oakwood a category C Prison located in Wolverhampton.
HMP Oakwood is a male prison with a population of 678 males, this is a training prison with a layout of 7 wings.
As a Paramedic, you will be covering any patient incidents throughout the prison and also be working out of the Healthcare department.
Hours
- 37.5 hours per week Monday - Sunday service
- Various shift patters between 7am - 8pm
- 3 long days
Salary
This position is full time, you’ll receive an annual salary between £34,428-41,659 per annum.

Candidates are required to have a Legal right to work in the UK and due to the nature of the role, offers of employment will be subject to additional vetting and security checks.
As a Paramedic, your responsibilities will vary. You will
- Provide outstanding evidence based case to our patients seeking out, listening to and acting on their feedback so that care is personalised and informed by what matters to them - focussing on emergency and unplanned care to patients with both primary care and acute care needs.
- Deliver non-judgemental care, building therapeutic relationships and promoting professional boundaries.
Playing an active part in the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of the patient’s care following our policies, procedures and always considering safeguarding.

- Qualified Paramedic
- Current professional registration (HCPC)
- Proven post-registration ambulance experience
- Evidence of continued professional development
- A non-judgmental and compassionate approach
Proven experience in either: Accident & Emergency, Primary Care environments or Minor injuries / illness

Although not essential ideal applicants would have experience in a hospital, community or prison environment.
