Join Supreme Mentoring Services
At Supreme Mentoring Services, we believe every young person deserves someone who refuses to give up on them.
We are looking for an outstanding Attendance & Wellbeing Mentor to support young people whose emotional wellbeing is affecting their ability to attend school.
This is more than an attendance role. It's about understanding why a young person is struggling to engage, building trusting relationships and helping them rediscover confidence, safety and belonging within education.
If you believe attendance improves through relationships rather than punishment, we'd love to hear from you.
About the Role
Working within a specialist education setting, you'll support pupils experiencing emotionally based school non-attendance (EBSNA), anxiety and other SEMH needs.
You'll play a key role in helping young people return to education by identifying barriers to attendance, working closely with families and school staff, and delivering targeted mentoring that promotes resilience, confidence and positive routines.
You'll be a visible, reassuring presence throughout the school day, helping pupils feel welcomed, valued and ready to engage.
Your Responsibilities
- Support pupils with persistent or emotionally based school non-attendance.
- Build strong, trusting relationships that encourage pupils to attend school consistently.
- Welcome pupils each morning and help create a positive start to the school day.
- Support pupils who arrive late by helping them regulate and re-engage positively.
- Deliver one-to-one mentoring focused on emotional wellbeing, confidence and resilience.
- Work closely with parents, carers and school staff to remove barriers to attendance.
- Monitor attendance patterns and contribute to strategies that improve engagement.
- Maintain accurate records, monitor progress and contribute to individual support plans.
- Celebrate attendance improvements and recognise positive achievements.
We're Looking For Someone Who...
- Has experience working with children or young people with SEMH or SEND.
- Understands the emotional reasons behind poor school attendance.
- Can build trust with pupils who may be anxious, disengaged or reluctant to attend school.
- Is calm, resilient and emotionally intelligent.
- Can have confident conversations with parents and carers.
- Understands safeguarding responsibilities.
- Believes that positive relationships are the foundation for improving attendance.
