Job Description:
Xerogrid is an established renewable energy distributor and installer, based in Yorkshire, expanding into distributed energy resource storage and energy trading. We sell and install Victron, Fronius and Pylontech equipment, and we're growing into new areas of the energy market.
This job would suit someone early in their electrical career who wants to specialise in solar and battery installation from the start, rather than picking it up later. You'll be trained and mentored on the job — this is a genuine route into a growing part of the energy industry, not just an entry-level admin role with "solar" in the title.
We're small enough that everyone's job has some overlap, so this role covers installation support alongside warehouse, stock and driving duties while you build up your qualifications and experience.
What the role covers
- Supporting installation and commissioning of solar PV and battery storage systems on site, working alongside experienced installers
- Driving to sites and supplier collections
- Supporting warehouse and stock control: goods in, goods out, keeping things accurate
- Packing and dispatching customer and trade orders when site work allows
- Assisting with job paperwork (certificates, job sheets, photos)
- Building toward independent installation and customer-facing work as you progress
Essential
- Recognised electrical qualification (18th Edition minimum) — newly qualified applicants welcome
- Full UK driving licence
- Willingness to learn and take on a broad range of tasks
- Comfortable moving between different types of task in the same week
Desirable
- Any exposure to solar PV, battery storage, or inverter systems (Victron/Fronius or similar)
- G98/G99 or grid connection knowledge
- Previous warehouse or stock control experience
What we offer
- Structured progression into solar and battery installation, with training provided
- Starting salary of £28,000 - £32,000, with a formal review at 6 months based on performance and progress toward additional certifications
- Performance-related pay as you build toward independent installation work
- Opportunity to earn company shares and profit share as you grow with the business
- Flexible working hours
- A small team where you'll see the whole operation, not just your part of it
- Opportunity to travel to sites across the UK and Spain as you progress
This suits someone who wants to build a career in solar and battery installation from the ground up, in a small business where growth and progression are tied directly to what you put in.
