Full job description

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join Powys Teaching Health Board as an Administration Assistant within our Children’s Services team.

This role will primarily support the S chool Nursing Team , which provides assessment, diagnosis, and ongoing management for children and young people across Powys.

You will play a key part in ensuring the smooth running of the service by providing high‑quality, efficient, and confidential administrative support to clinical teams.

In addition to supporting Community Paediatrics, you will also provide administrative support to wider Children’s Services , as required.

This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated and organised individual to join a friendly and supportive team, contributing to the delivery of high‑quality care for children, young people, and their families across Powys.

Acting as a first point of contact for the department. Answering telephone calls, taking messages accurately.

Dealing with routine and specialist enquiries in a pleasant and helpful manner, communicating relevant information to the relevant departments/person, referring to others as appropriate.

Updating of electronic and paper-based systems such as WCCIS (Welsh Community Care Information System) and WPAS (Welsh Patient Administration System), collating of information, mail distribution and logging etc.

Photocopying and word processing documents, letters, emails, minutes and reports when required.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
