Foxglove School is a brand-new specialist provision based in Hinckley which is due to open in the Autumn Term 2026. Although new, the school is supported by Hopedale Children & Family Services Ltd — an established group with an excellent reputation for SEND education. The school will provide specialist education and therapeutic support to children and young people, aged 3 to19, with social, emotional and mental health needs, autism, cognition and learning needs, including severe learning difficulties.

We are looking to recruit caring individuals that are passionate about supporting the education of pupils with complex social, emotional, mental health and/or cognition and learning difficulties. Who can manage pupil behaviour in an environment where physical intervention maybe needed to ensure the safety of children and staff.
And willing to support the personal care needs of pupils.
Key aspects of this role include:
- · To support the delivery of the national curriculum and contribute to the development of other support staff, pupils and school policies and strategies.
- To work collaboratively with teaching staff in the whole planning/assessment cycle and the management/preparation of resources.
- To promote effective teaching and learning for pupils who have complex social, emotional and behavioural difficulties and multiple barriers to learning
- Take the lead role in the planning, teaching and assessment of agreed sessions, across the school
- During the absence of a class teacher, supervise the whole class and deliver activities within agreed staffing levels and appropriate risk assessments
- Provide general support to teachers in the management and organisation of pupils and the classroom, ensuring appropriate support for each pupil dependant on their individual needs, which will require working closely with other professionals such as social workers, therapists and care staff
- To write and review risk assessments as directed by the Head of School
- To act as the lead in monitoring as designated by the Head of School
- Use behaviour management strategies in line with School’s policy and procedures, which contribute to a purposeful learning environment for pupils appropriate to their age and special needs
- Assist teachers in creating and maintaining a purposeful, orderly and supportive learning environment for all pupils, particularly helping to overcome barriers to learning
- Promote the inclusion of all pupils, ensuring they have equal opportunities to learn and develop
- To provide support for pupils, the teacher and the school in order to raise standards of achievement for all pupils, by utilising advanced levels of knowledge and skills when planning, monitoring, assessing and managing classes, and to encourage pupils to become independent learners, to provide support for their welfare, and to support the inclusion of pupils in all aspects of school life
