We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Musical Theatre Teacher to inspire and educate children through the art of musical theatre. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in teaching, with experience working with young learners across various age groups. This role involves designing engaging lessons that incorporate singing, acting, dance, and creative expression, fostering confidence and teamwork among students. Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver dynamic musical theatre lessons tailored to diverse age groups.
- Incorporate elements of singing, acting, dance, and creative writing into lesson plans to promote holistic artistic development.
- Support behavioural management strategies to create a positive and inclusive classroom atmosphere.
- Adapt teaching methods to accommodate special educational needs and individual learning styles.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to students during rehearsals and performances, encouraging teamwork and self-expression.
- Prepare students for performances by rehearsing scenes, songs, and choreography with enthusiasm and professionalism.
- Collaborate with colleagues to organise showcases or productions that highlight students’ talents.
- Maintain accurate records of attendance, progress, and behavioural observations.
- Engage with parents or guardians regarding student progress and behaviour as required.
Requirements
- Proven experience in teaching musical theatre or related performing arts disciplines such as drama, dance, or singing.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to motivate and inspire children of various ages.
- Experience working with children across different educational settings, including preschool or early childhood education.
- Knowledge of behaviour management techniques suitable for young learners.
- Background in special education or experience adapting lessons for children with additional needs is desirable.
- Skills in proofreading, creative writing, and tutoring are advantageous for developing engaging lesson content.
- Experience teaching physical education or movement-based activities will be considered a plus.
- Demonstrated ability to organise activities effectively while maintaining a nurturing environment conducive to learning and creativity.
