Owlpath Learning Academy | Chester | In-Centre & Online

About Owlpath

Owlpath Learning Academy is a growing tutoring centre based in Chester, delivering high-quality tuition in 11+, SATs and GCSE subjects. We work with students both online and in-centre, and we're passionate about building genuine understanding — not just drilling past papers.

We currently have a small team of 3 dedicated tutors and are looking to grow as demand for our services increases ahead of the 2026 11+ season and GCSE exam cycle.

The Role

We are looking for an enthusiastic and knowledgeable tutor to join our team on a part-time basis. You will deliver tuition to students aged 9–16, specialising in one or both of the following areas:

11+ Preparation (Verbal Reasoning, Non-Verbal Reasoning and Maths — GL Assessment format)
GCSE English, Maths & Science (Foundation and/or Higher tier)

Sessions are delivered both online (via video call) and in-centre at our Chester location. In-centre availability is required, with the balance of online and in-person sessions agreed based on student demand.

What We Are Looking For

Strong subject knowledge in 11+ preparation or GCSE (or both)
Experience tutoring or teaching children aged 9–16
Excellent communication skills — able to explain concepts clearly and patiently
Reliable, punctual and professional
Based locally in or around Chester — in-centre availability is essential
Enhanced DBS check (we can support the application process if required)

Desirable (but not essential)

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or teaching experience
Familiarity with the GL Assessment 11+ format used in the Wirral Admissions Test
Experience preparing students for selective grammar school entry
