Planning Analyst

About the role:

The Planning Analyst is responsible for delivering accurate demand forecasts, inventory plans and supply recommendations to ensure product availability while optimising inventory investment. The role acts as a key link between Sales, Marketing, Operations, Procurement and Finance, providing data-driven insights to support business growth and customer service objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

Demand Planning

Develop and maintain SKU-level forecasts across all sales channels
Analyse historical sales, market trends, seasonality and promotional activity
Collaborate with Sales and Marketing teams to improve forecast accuracy
Track forecast performance and implement continuous improvements

Inventory Planning

Monitor inventory levels, stock health and inventory turns
Recommend safety stock parameters and reorder point.
Identify risks relating to stock shortages, excess inventory and obsolescence
Support working capital optimisation initiatives

Supply Planning

Develop supply plans aligned to forecast demand and supplier lead times
Work with Procurement to ensure purchase order requirements are communicated effectively
Monitor supplier performance and inventory coverage
Support new product launches and phase-out activities

Analysis & Reporting

Produce weekly and monthly KPI reports
Analyse sales, inventory, service levels and forecast accuracy
Provide recommendations based on planning data and trends
Maintain planning dashboards and planning master data

S&OP Support

Support the Sales & Operations Planning process
Prepare reporting packs and scenario analysis
Highlight demand, capacity and inventory risks to stakeholders
Support decision-making through data-driven recommendations

What we’re looking for:

2+ years in demand planning, supply planning, inventory management or analytical roles
Advanced Excel skills
Experience with ERP and planning systems
Strong analytical and problem-solving capability
Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
Ability to work with large datasets and translate findings into actions

Qualifications:

Degree in Supply Chain, Business, Mathematics, Economics or related discipline preferred.
APICS/CPIM qualification desirable.
