We’re looking for a Geotechnical Consultant to join our team, primarily based in our Northampton office, although Birmingham could also be considered as a location. This is a genuine opportunity to play a key role in shaping and leading our geotechnical presence, take ownership, influence direction, and be part of a growing success story across the Midlands.

ABOUT THE ROLE

You’ll take on a leading position within our Northampton team, acting as the focal point for geotechnical expertise locally while being supported by a wider Midlands team of 30+ geotechnical specialists and a national division of around 100.

Working under the leadership of Paul Eastwood , Geo Regional Director for the Midlands, you’ll be responsible for delivering high-quality geotechnical solutions across a diverse range of projects.

Your role will include:

Leading and delivering ground investigations and geotechnical designs
Developing robust ground models
Producing clear, high-quality interpretive reports
Designing geotechnical structures including foundations, earthworks, slopes, retaining structures and ground improvement solutions
Acting as a technical leader and growing the geotechnical capability within the Birmingham team

You’ll play a key role in strengthening and expanding our geotechnical presence in Birmingham, helping to shape the team, influence projects, and deliver practical, high-quality solutions to real-world engineering challenges across the region.

Your work will directly contribute to the continued growth and success of our Midlands business, while being part of a collaborative and well-connected national network.

ABOUT YOU

You’re an experienced geotechnical engineer with strong UK consultancy experience and a passion for delivering high-quality work.

You’ll bring:

Proven experience scoping and delivering geotechnical investigations and designs
Strong ground modelling and interpretive reporting skills
Experience designing a range of geotechnical structures
Confidence working independently and leading technical delivery
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
A degree in Geotechnical or Civil Engineering (BEng, BSc or higher)
Chartered status with a relevant professional body
