Senior Engineer – Groundworks & Civil Engineering

The Opportunity
We are recruiting on behalf of an established and growing groundworks and civil engineering contractor looking to appoint an experienced Senior Engineer.
This is a hands-on, site-based position working across a range of groundworks and infrastructure projects throughout Bedfordshire, Buckinghamshire, London and the Home Counties.
The successful candidate will take responsibility for setting out, site control and engineering accuracy while working closely with site management teams to ensure projects are delivered safely and to a high standard.
Key Responsibilities
- Setting out drainage, foundations, roads and external works.
- Establishing and maintaining accurate site control.
- Carrying out surveys and producing as-built information.
- Reviewing drawings and identifying potential technical or buildability issues.
- Checking line, level and quality throughout construction.
- Completing QA documentation and maintaining accurate engineering records.
- Providing technical support to Site Managers and project teams.
- Liaising with clients, consultants and other project stakeholders.
- Assisting with planning and resolving technical issues on site.
What We're Looking For
- Strong groundworks and civil engineering experience.
- Proven setting-out and surveying ability.
- Good knowledge of drainage, foundations, roads and external works.
- Confident reading and interpreting construction drawings.
- High standards of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and organisational skills.
- Relevant engineering qualifications.
- Valid CSCS accreditation.
- Full UK driving licence.
