CHX Products manufactures and decorates its products entirely in-house at our Bodmin facility. The Digital Print Operator is a key position within our production team, responsible for setting up and operating print equipment to fulfil customer orders to the required quality and quantity. The role demands a high degree of accuracy, strong organisational skills, and the ability to work efficiently within time-sensitive production schedules.
The shift hours are 6.00am - 2.30pm Monday - Friday (40 hours)
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Set up and operate print machines using our computer information system, ensuring correct quantities are produced, including any permitted overs.
- Conduct pre-production checks against the Job Bag before each run, verifying print quality, colour accuracy, alignment, and positioning.
- Use digital image software to make artwork adjustments as required, ensuring any amendments are communicated to the Pre-Production team so that layout templates are updated accordingly.
- Monitor print quality on an ongoing basis throughout each production run to ensure consistent standards are maintained.
- Complete QC sheets and all other required production documentation accurately and on time.
- Carry out routine daily cleaning and maintenance of equipment in accordance with manufacturer guidelines.
- Report any technical printer defects to our retained support provider at the earliest opportunity to minimise production delays.
- Provide production data and timings to the Planning Manager as requested.
PERSON SPECIFICATION
The successful candidate will have a proven eye for quality and detail, taking care to ensure that work meets the required standard before progressing. Equally important is the ability to maintain pace and output. Candidates should be methodical and well-organised, comfortable working to a a production schedule and working independently without close supervision. A reasonable level of computer literacy is expected, as the role involves the use of print management software, an information system, and digital image software.
