Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and enthusiastic Accounts and Payroll Clerk to join our small team in Denbigh, North Wales. The role is part time, working 21 hours per week at our Denbigh office, with the potential of increasing to full time in the future.
The successful candidate with be responsible for the preparation of management accounts and VAT returns, quarterly MTD submissions, to include spreadsheet analysis work and the use of accounting packages such as Sage, Quickbooks, Free Agent and Xero, as required. They will also assist in the preparation and compilation of incorporated and unincorporated financial statements.
You will also assist in maintaining client payroll schemes, processing weekly and monthly payrolls and processing of workplace pensions. You may be the main point of contact for some of our payroll clients.
You will work as part of a small team and must be able to work well in a deadline driven time-pressured situation.
Main duties will include:
- · Preparation of quarterly VAT and MTD for a number of clients
- · General bookkeeping duties for clients as required
- · Assist in the preparation of financial statements
- · Using Sage, Free Agent, Quickbooks and Xero packages
- · Processing weekly/monthly/four weekly payrolls for our clients
- · Processing of workplace pensions and register new schemes as required
- · Dealing with client queries in relation to their payroll
Essential Skills and experience:
- Proven experience working with accounting software such as Sage, QuickBooks, Free Agent or similar platforms.
- Familiarity with payroll processing systems like Sage 50 payroll is highly preferred.
- Strong data entry skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent analysis skills to identify discrepancies and resolve issues efficiently.
- Prior experience in preparing VAT and MTD quarterly submissions
- A good working knowledge of the Microsoft suite of products, especially Excel & Word.
- Well-organised, problem -solving approach, good timekeeping, works well in a deadline driven time-pressured situation
- Effective communicator, on phone, in writing and in person
- Educated to GCSE level. Must have GCSE Mathematics & English Grade C level or above.
- AAT level 4 qualification
Desirable Skills and experience:
- · Experience of dealing with customers/clients
- · The ability to communicate in Welsh
