Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and proactive Maintenance Technican. A maintenance technican plays a vital role in ensuring we are up to the best standard for our guests. This position involves a variety of day to day maintenance tasks and ensures the safe, efficient, and high-quality maintenance of all resort facilities, including self-catering accommodation units, farm areas, grounds, and hot tub maintenance, while maintaining compliance with health and safety regulations.
Reporting Line
Reports to the Maintenance Manager and Guest Services Manager. Works collaboratively as part of the wider resort team.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out planned and reactive maintenance across accommodation units; ecotel, cottages, lodges, farm buildings, and grounds.
- Maintain hot tubs, including cleaning, water testing, chemical balancing, and basic repairs.
- Perform general building repairs
- Maintain outdoor areas including landscaping, fencing, pathways, and farm infrastructure.
- Support upkeep of farm-related facilities, equipment, and animal enclosures
- Inspect accommodation units between guest stays and rectify defects promptly.
- Conduct routine checks of plant equipment, boilers, and utilities.
- Respond quickly to maintenance requests from guests and staff.
- Accurately track, record, and update all maintenance jobs using job tracking systems or logs.
- Assist with seasonal maintenance tasks and project work.
- Maintain clear and up-to-date maintenance records.
Health & Safety Responsibilities
- Ensure full compliance with health and safety legislation (e.g., COSHH, risk assessments, safe systems of work).
- Conduct regular inspections of facilities to identify hazards.
- Maintain safe conditions for guests, staff, and animals.
- Ensure hot tubs meet hygiene and safety standards.
- Use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
- Report accidents, incidents, and near misses in accordance with procedures.
- Safely handle chemicals and equipment.
- Assist in fire safety checks, emergency procedures, and evacuation drills.
Working Hours & Conditions
- 40 hours per week, working 5 out of 7 days.
- Flexible working hours including shift patterns.
- Regular weekend and evening working required.
- Participation in on-call rota.
- Outdoor and indoor work in varying weather conditions.
- Physical role involving lifting, manual work, and use of tools/equipment.

Skills & Experience
- Proven experience in general maintenance or multi-trade role.
- Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrics, and carpentry.
- Experience with hot tubs or pool systems desirable.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Good communication and customer service skills.
- Knowledge of health and safety practices.
- Full UK driving licence
