Community Mental Health service s are offering a unique opportunity for individuals seeking to play a pivotal role in the our newly developed Intensive Assertive Treatment pathway.

This role provides a platform to contribute to and influence significant service developments and organisational change. You will work collaboratively with stakeholders at all levels, supporting the design, implementation, and evaluation of initiatives that enhance service effectiveness and user experience.

In particular, the growth of our AC workforce and increasing our ability to have a blended system whereby a range of professionals can become the AC in charge of care is at the forefront of this ambition. We have a proven track record in training and deploying ACs safely and sustainably within Cornwall and realising the clinical benefits this role offers those who use are services.

Act as Responsible Clinician (RC) for patients detained under the Mental Health Act (MHA), 1983, and hold accountability for the delivery of care and clinical decisions made as the consultant in charge of patient care.

The Approved/Responsible Clinician will provide highly specialised care within the community mental health setting, using advanced clinical knowledge that is evidenced based.

Work together with the existing ACs to determine most appropriate allocation of RC.

Develop roles to be RC for CTO patients.

Provide expert advice to ensure the needs of the patient are met by leading, challenging and changing practice within the clinical setting.

To facilitate the development of an environment that encourages continuous clinical improvement and problem solving by practitioners within the organisation.

To work together with the Strategic Lead to support the continual development and embedding of Multi-professional Approved Clinician (MPAC) roles in the Trust; and provision of guidance and support for the education and development of trainee MPACs working to achieve Approved/Responsible Clinician status.”
