Proper repair workshop - no nonsense, just good work
We're a traditional repair workshop in Bodmin, with 9 spacious bays, and we've beenestablished since 2002.
We diagnose faults, repair vehicles properly and take pride in doing the job right, not just swapping parts and hoping for the best.
If you're a hands-on, experienced mechanic who likes to get stuck in, crack on with the job and go home knowing you've done a proper day's work, this will suit you.
It's also a really exciting time to be joining us. We're investing in the business, growing the workshop and building a strong team for the future.
As our Lead Mechanic, you'll be one of the most experienced people in the workshop. You'll be the go-to person for the rest of the team, happy to share your knowledge, support others with diagnostics and help keep the workshop running smoothly.
The role
You’ll be:
- Servicing and repairing vehicles
- Diagnosing faults using your own knowledge and experience
- Working on cars, motorhomes and light commercial vehicles (LGVs)
- Seeing jobs through from start to finish
- Supporting and guiding other mechanics where required
- Helping maintain high standards of workmanship across the workshop
We’re not big on micromanagement. You’ll be trusted to get on with the job, think for yourself and take ownership of your work.
What we’re looking for
- Extensive mechanical experience - this is essential
- Excellent diagnostic and fault-finding skills – this is essential
- Confidence to support your colleagues
- A practical, hands-on approach
- Pride in doing the job properly
- Happy working in a busy, and very traditional workshop
A Level 3 qualification is welcome but isn't essential. Experience, knowledge and the ability to lead by example are far more important to us. If you can do the job, we'd love to hear from you!
What’s in it for you
- £42,120 (£18 per hour)
- Weekly pay
- Mon - Fri only (no weekends)
- 7am - 5pm with 30 min paid morning break and up to 1 hour lunch break (unpaid)
- 9-bay purpose-built workshop
- Established, respected local business
- Varied repair work (not just servicing)
- Down-to-earth team
- 28 days holiday (which we are flexible with carrying over, borrowing)
- Progression opportunities if you want them
- No corporate nonsense
**If the job is right but the hours don’t quite fit, let us know - we’re happy to have a conversation and be flexible where we can**.
