We have an exciting opportunity for a Advanced Clinical Practitioner to join our Primary Care team at HMP Altcourse, a remand prison located in Liverpool.

HMP Altcourse is the busiest remand prison in the country, so there's lots going on in this exciting, varied role, where you will gain valuable experience, and no 2 days are ever the same!

As a Advanced Clinical Practitioner you will have experience in Primary Care and previous experience as a ACP

This position is full time, you’ll receive an annual salary between £59,677 - £66792 per annum FTE - depending on experience.

Candidates are required to have a Legal right to work in the UK and due to the nature of the role, offers of employment will be subject to additional vetting and security checks.

What you'll be doing

As a Advanced Clinical Practitioner, your responsibilities will vary. You will

Demonstrate judgement in assessing and managing wide ranging and complex patient problems
Provide clinical leadership for the mental health team, This multi-disciplinary team is made up of a variety of
registered and non-registered professionals including; mental health, and substance misuse practitioners
You will act as a role model ensuring professional appearance and maintaining
professional standards at all times
Supporting senior clinicians on site you will be part of the daily leadership team, providing clinical input for all patients
As a clinical expert in your field, you will work with the team to ensure; patient safety, the management of complex cases and ensure the most up to date treatment methodology is applied to patient care.

Qualifications required:

Registered Nurse with current NMC or Registered Paramedic with current HCPC
Independent/supplementary prescriber qualification
MSc in Advanced Practice
Experience working autonomously as an advanced clinical practitioner following best practice
guidance

Although not essential ideal applicants would have experience in a hospital, community or prison environment.
