Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Press Brake Setter/Operator to join our manufacturing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for setting up and operating press brake machines to accurately bend and shape sheet metal components in accordance with engineering drawings/specifications.
Duties
- Set up and calibrate press brake machinery to meet specific bending requirements.
- Operate press brake machines efficiently and safely to produce precise metal components.
- Monitor machine operation, making adjustments as necessary to ensure quality standards are maintained.
- Perform routine maintenance, including cleaning, lubrication, and inspection of tooling and equipment.
- Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications accurately.
- Select appropriate tooling and hand tools for each job, ensuring proper fit and function.
- Conduct quality checks on finished parts, verifying dimensions and tolerances using basic measuring instruments.
- Assist with fabrication tasks such as grinding, welding, or assembly when required.
- Maintain a clean and organised work area adhering to health and safety regulations.
- Collaborate with team members to optimise production efficiency and resolve any operational issues promptly.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Press Brake Setter/Operator within a manufacturing or fabrication environment.
- Strong knowledge of sheet metal fabrication processes including bending, grinding, welding, and assembly.
- Mechanical knowledge of press brake machinery, tooling, and hand tools utilisation.
- Ability to read technical drawings and perform basic math calculations related to measurements and angles.
- Familiarity with safety procedures related to machine operation and fabrication work.
- Excellent attention to detail with a focus on producing high-quality components.
- Good organisational skills with the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Previous experience in sheet metal work or related trades is highly desirable.
4 Day Working Week (Mon-Thur 7am-5:15pm) | Overtime available on Friday's at time & a half
