Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and professional Locum Pharmacist to join our team on a flexible basis, with options for full-time or locum engagements. The successful candidate will play a vital role in delivering high-quality pharmaceutical services within a busy healthcare environment. Responsibilities
- Dispense prescriptions accurately and efficiently in accordance with legal and organisational guidelines
- Provide expert advice to patients regarding medication use, potential side effects, and interactions
- Ensure proper medication storage, handling, and documentation procedures are maintained
- Assist in managing inventory levels, stock control, and procurement processes
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to optimise patient treatment plans
- Maintain comprehensive records of all pharmacy activities, adhering to confidentiality protocols
- Support the training and supervision of junior staff or interns as required
- Participate in clinical reviews and contribute to multidisciplinary team discussions on patient care
Experience
- Proven experience as a Pharmacist, preferably with ICU or critical care exposure
- Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and pharmacology principles relevant to medication administration
- Demonstrated ability to deliver exceptional patient care within a fast-paced environment
- Familiarity with pharmacy management systems and medication dispensing software
- Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail and accuracy in all tasks
- Ability to work independently while maintaining effective communication with healthcare teams
- Registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC) or equivalent regulatory body is essential
