Paint Sprayer – Bespoke Joinery & Furniture Finishing
Atomize Ltd
About Atomize
Atomize Ltd is a specialist spray finishing company producing high-quality finishes for bespoke joinery, fitted furniture, cabinetry and kitchen projects.
We work with joinery manufacturers, cabinet makers, interior companies and private clients, finishing everything from kitchens and wardrobes to media units, alcove units and completely bespoke pieces.
Due to an increasing workload, we are looking for an experienced Paint Sprayer / Joinery Finisher to join our growing workshop team.
This is a hands-on role for someone who takes pride in their work, understands what a genuinely high-quality sprayed finish looks like and wants to be part of a busy, professional spray finishing environment.
The Role
You will be involved in the full finishing process, from preparation through to final topcoat and quality control.
Your day-to-day work will include:
- Preparing MDF, timber, veneer and previously painted surfaces ready for spraying
- Sanding raw substrates and primed surfaces to the required standard
- Filling and correcting minor imperfections before finishing
- Applying primers, sealers and topcoats
- Spraying both water-based and polyurethane coating systems
- Spraying bespoke joinery, cabinetry, doors, panels, shelving and furniture components
- Setting up and adjusting spray equipment to achieve the correct application and finish
- Mixing paints, hardeners and other coating components accurately
- Working with different colours and sheen levels
- Checking work between stages and identifying defects before progressing
- Carrying out final quality checks before finished items leave the spray department
- Cleaning and maintaining spray guns and equipment
- Keeping spray booths and preparation areas clean and organised
- Working alongside the rest of the team to keep jobs moving efficiently through the workshop
What We’re Looking For
Previous professional spray-finishing experience is strongly preferred.
Experience within bespoke joinery, cabinetry, furniture, kitchen finishing, automotive refinishing or another high-quality spray environment would be particularly suitable.
You should:
- Be confident using professional spray equipment
- Have a good understanding of surface preparation
- Understand the importance of correct sanding between coating stages
- Be able to identify and correct common finishing defects
- Have excellent attention to detail
- Take pride in producing consistent, high-quality work
- Be comfortable working to deadlines in a busy workshop
- Be reliable, organised and able to work as part of a team
- Understand that preparation is just as important as the final spray application
- Be willing to help with preparation and other workshop duties when required
Experience with PU and water-based joinery coating systems is a major advantage.
Experience with professional air-assisted airless, HVLP or similar spray systems would also be beneficial.
The Person
We’re not simply looking for someone who can operate a spray gun.
We’re looking for someone who understands the complete finishing process and takes ownership of the quality of their work.
At Atomize, the standard of the finished product is extremely important. We need someone who will notice imperfections, deal with them properly and won’t send something through simply because it’s “good enough”.
At the same time, this is a production environment. You need to be able to maintain a high standard while working efficiently and helping the rest of the team keep jobs moving.
Working at Atomize
You’ll be joining a growing specialist finishing company with a varied workload and plenty of opportunity to develop your skills.
No two weeks are exactly the same. One week you may be finishing a complete bespoke kitchen, while the next could involve wardrobes, media units, fitted furniture or specialist joinery.
As our workload continues to grow, we’re looking for someone who wants to become an important and dependable member of the Atomize team.
