Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Gardener to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong interest in landscape maintenance, with the ability to create and maintain beautiful outdoor spaces. This role involves hands-on work in various environments, ensuring that gardens and landscapes are healthy, vibrant, and well-maintained.
Duties
- Cultivate and maintain garden beds by planting, watering, weeding, and fertilising plants.
- Perform landscape maintenance tasks including mowing lawns, trimming hedges, and pruning trees.
- Operate power tools and hand tools safely and effectively for various gardening tasks.
- Irrigate plants efficiently to ensure optimal growth conditions.
- Monitor plant health and identify any pests or diseases, taking appropriate action as needed.
- Assist in the design and layout of new garden areas or landscaping projects.
- Maintain cleanliness of tools, equipment, and work areas to promote safety and efficiency.
Skills
- Strong knowledge of gardening techniques including plant care, soil management, and pest control.
- Experience with landscape maintenance practices is highly desirable.
- Proficiency in using power tools such as lawnmowers, trimmers, and blowers.
- Ability to use hand tools effectively for planting, pruning, and general upkeep.
- Understanding of irrigation systems and techniques for efficient water management.
- Excellent attention to detail with a keen eye for aesthetics in garden design.
- Strong physical stamina to perform manual labour tasks throughout the day.
