Legal Assistant – Family

Biscoes are one of Hampshire’s leading law firms, with a history dating back over 170 years and our office in Ryde takes pride of place in Union Street. We’re surrounded by shops, cafes and bars and it’s only a short walk to the pier, train station, hovercraft terminal and the beach. We’re looking for someone who can provide expert support for our family team and enjoy being part of a branch office, in a fast paced and exciting legal environment.

Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Legal Assistant to support our Family team. The role involves providing efficient administrative and secretarial support to our lawyers in the family team and being a part of support to the Ryde office team.

Hours: Full-time, 35 per week

Location: Office based at our Ryde office.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare and maintain legal documents, court forms, and bundles.
Help manage case files, deadlines, and diary commitments.
Liaise with clients, counsel, and external agencies.
Handle sensitive correspondence, calls, and emails confidentially.
Assist with billing, file opening/closing, and compliance tasks.

Skills & Experience

Experience in Family Law is essential.
Strong document production, typing, and organisational skills.
Confident communicator with excellent attention to detail.
Proficient in Microsoft Office, Microsoft Teams and other Microsoft software and case management systems.
