Full job description

Job Title: Legal Support Assistant

Hours of Work: 08.30 – 17.15 hrs – Monday to Friday (36.25 hours per week).

Salary: National Minimum/Living Wage

Location: Stamford (with travel to our Bourne and Market Deeping offices as required).

The role:

We have an exciting opportunity for a Legal Support Assistant to join our Document Production Team based in our Stamford office. The successful candidate will also be required to travel to and provide support across our Bourne and Market Deeping offices when needed.

We are seeking a positive, friendly, and enthusiastic individual with excellent attention to detail and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

This role would be well suited to someone looking for their first position within a legal firm, an individual who holds secretarial qualifications, a degree in Law (desirable), or someone with equivalent relevant professional experience.

Full training will be provided; however, a genuine interest in the legal profession and a willingness to learn are essential.

Key Duties:

Scanning of daily incoming post and photocopying as directed by the Team Leader.
Closing files using the standard office procedure.
Carry out miscellaneous general office duties during the course of the day as reasonably requested.
Ensure all photocopiers are stocked/supplied with paper.
Check regularly and maintain stock levels of stationery.
Project work including: ensuring our wills, deeds and file storage is maintained and kept tidy and in order and retrieving wills, deeds and files as required.
Typing of information from manual documents or digital dictation and voice recognition as directed by the Team Leader.
Collecting, opening and distributing Royal Mail post.
Delivering/collecting by hand for/from other solicitors/nearby businesses.
Franking outgoing mail,
Any other ad-hoc duties.
Generally assist reception staff as required:
In providing reception cover as necessary including providing holiday cover,
In organising refreshments for meetings,
Answering calls
Greeting clients

Essential Experience

5 x GCSE Passes at grade C or above.
High level of competency in using Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).

Desirable Experience

Law Degree
Experience of working in a law firm.
Competent in using case management systems.
Clear understanding of confidentially/Data Protection.
