Working Pattern - Hybrid – 2 days per week in the Vitality Bournemouth Office. Full time, 35 hours per week.

What this role is all about:
This Finance Analyst role is integral to the successful performance of the Finance Business Partnering team. The role will support the Senior Finance Business Partner by delivering accurate and timely expense reporting, with a strong focus on month-end processes such as accruals and prepayments. The role will ensure costs are recognised correctly, provide meaningful analysis of financial performance, and contribute to effective financial control and decision-making across the business. The role would suit an individual with a keen eye and passion for simplification, automation, and digitalisation of processes as well as interest in the Business Partnering space.
Key Actions
- Delivery of accurate month-end reporting. Ensure all month end processes are completed in line with timelines, with a strong focus on accuracy and audit readiness.
- Preparation and review of accruals and prepayments. Accurately recognise costs in the correct accounting period through robust accrual and prepayment processes.
- Maintenance of financial accuracy and control. Ensure integrity of financial data through reconciliations, validation checks and adherence to accounting principles.
- Analysis of expense performance. Review actuals against budget and forecast, identifying and explaining key variances and underlying drivers.
- Production of routine reporting packs. Compile and deliver monthly reporting outputs, ensuring consistency, clarity and relevance to stakeholders.
- Continuous process improvement. Identify opportunities to enhance efficiency, automation, and reporting quality while maintaining strong financial governance
- Provide insight and support to the Senior Finance Business Partner to enable effective decision making.
What do you need to thrive?
- Relevant experience within a finance role and understanding of finance month end procedures
- Currently studying, part or fully qualified or has a desire to complete a financial qualification
- Complete understanding and comfortability with core accounting principles (debits/credits, prepayments, accruals)
- Must showcase a proactive nature to and ability to work in a face paced environment
- Confidence to challenge the norm and provide suggestions on improvements
- Proficient with Excel and able to manage data and analysis using various formulas and tools (e.g., Pivot Tables, Vlookups, SumIfs)
- Experience using Finance Systems - Anaplan, Sage, Wax Analytics/Ivalua an advantage
