Alternative Provision Tutor (Daytime)
Location: Bournemouth, Christchurch & Poole (Mobile Role)

Due to significant growth in referrals from local schools and the local authority, Conexus Tuition Southbourne, Christchurch & Bournemouth East is expanding its daytime Alternative Provision team and is looking for experienced educators who want to make a genuine difference to young people's lives.
This is a rewarding opportunity for educators who thrive on building relationships, adapting their approach and helping young people overcome barriers to learning.
About the Role
This is not a traditional classroom teaching role.
You will work with students on a one-to-one or small-group basis, delivering personalised support tailored to their individual needs and circumstances.
Many of the young people we support are academically capable but face challenges that make accessing mainstream education difficult. These may include:
- Anxiety and Emotionally Based School Avoidance (EBSA)
- Autism and other SEND needs
- Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs
- Medical needs
- Behavioural challenges
- Students awaiting specialist placements or reintegration into school
Sessions may take place in a variety of settings, including:
- Students' homes
- Libraries
- Community venues
- Schools
- Online

- Can adapt learning to suit individual needs and interests

- Enjoy working creatively and flexibly
- Are confident working independently
- Believe that every young person deserves an education tailored to their needs

Subjects Required
We are particularly interested in tutors who can support one or more of the following:
- Maths
- English
- Science
- Functional Skills
- KS2, KS3 and KS4 learners
Essential Requirements
- Experience working with children or young people in an educational setting
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- Enhanced DBS certificate (or willingness to obtain one)
- Right to work in the UK
- Ability to travel across Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole
- Availability during school hours on weekdays
Desirable
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- SEND experience
- SEMH or Alternative Provision experience
- Experience delivering one-to-one tuition
- Access to your own transport

Please note: This is a mobile role covering Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole. Tuition takes place in schools, libraries, community venues, students' homes and online.
Job Types: Part-time, Freelance, Self-employed
Schedule: Monday to Friday, daytime hours during term time
Pay: From £40.00 per hour
