About the Role
Edens Landscapes Ltd and its associated property companies are looking for an experienced and reliable Property Maintenance Manager / Decorator to take responsibility for the day-to-day maintenance and upkeep of a varied portfolio of properties.
The role will primarily involve maintaining a number of HMO properties in Poole, as well as small offices at Edens Landscapes Yard and Business Park, and providing general building and maintenance support at our development site in Wimborne.
We are looking for a practical, hands-on individual who is an excellent painter and decorator, but who is also confident carrying out a wide range of general property and building maintenance.
This is a varied role where no two days are likely to be the same. The successful candidate will be expected to work independently, identify problems, organise and prioritise their workload, and take ownership of keeping our properties and buildings in excellent condition.
Key Responsibilities
- Day-to-day maintenance and upkeep of multiple HMO properties in Poole
- Responding to and resolving tenant maintenance issues
- Painting and decorating
- General building repairs and maintenance
- Identifying defects and maintenance requirements before they become larger problems
- Carrying out planned maintenance and property improvements
- Managing and prioritising day-to-day maintenance requests
- Maintenance and upkeep of small offices at Edens Landscapes Yard and Business Park
- General building maintenance and support at our Wimborne development site
- Liaising professionally with tenants and members of the wider business
- Arranging or reporting specialist works where a qualified external contractor is required
- Ensuring properties are safe, clean, tidy and maintained to a high standard
- Keeping appropriate records of maintenance works carried out
- Responding to emergency maintenance call-outs from tenants outside normal working hours when required
About You
The ideal candidate will have previous experience inproperty maintenance, building maintenance, facilities management, decorating or a similar hands-on role.
You will be:
- An excellent painter and decorator
- A confident all-rounder with good general building maintenance skills
- Practical and able to find solutions to problems
- Comfortable working independently and taking ownership of your workload
- Organised and able to prioritise competing maintenance requirements
- Reliable, trustworthy and professional
- Friendly and approachable when dealing with tenants
- Proud of the standard of your work
- Able to identify when a job can be completed yourself and when a qualified contractor is required
- Flexible and willing to undertake occasional evening and weekend emergency call-outs
- A full UK driving license holder of over 2 years.
A broad range of trade skills and previous experience working across multiple properties would be highly advantageous. Formal qualifications are welcome, but practical experience, reliability and the ability to complete work to a high standard are key.

The Person We're Looking For
We're looking for someone who is hands-on, reliable and takes pride in their work.
You should be the type of person who can walk into a property, identify what needs doing and get on with it; whether that's completely redecorating a room, repairing a door, making good damaged plaster, fixing general maintenance issues or helping keep a site moving.
