About Sintela

Sintela is a global leader in Distributed Fiber Optic Sensing (DFOS) and Distributed Acoustic Sensing (DAS) technology. Our ONYX™ systems are used worldwide across border security, rail, mining, pipelines, subsea infrastructure, and critical national infrastructure projects. We design and build industry-leading sensing systems that are easy to deploy, highly reliable, and trusted in real-world environments.

As we continue to grow, we are looking for an enthusiastic Graduate Field Engineer to join our team in Poundbury, Dorset. This is an exciting opportunity for a recent graduate to begin a career working with advanced sensing technology on projects around the world.

The Role

As a Graduate Field Engineer, you will work closely with experienced engineers and software specialists to support the installation, commissioning, testing, and operation of Sintela systems. You will gain hands-on experience with cutting-edge fiber optic sensing technology and have the opportunity to travel internationally to support customer deployments and trials.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys problem solving, technology, field-based work, and learning in a fast-paced engineering environment.

The role is based in our office in Poundbury, Dorset and will include international travel to other offices and client sites as required.

Key Responsibilities

Assist with the preparation and delivery of field installations and customer trials
Support commissioning and testing of Sintela ONYX™ systems
Work with engineers and customers to analyse sensing data and system performance
Help configure and optimise detection software and algorithms
Participate in customer demonstrations and Site Acceptance Tests (SATs)
Carry out quality checks on recorded sensing data
Support troubleshooting and technical investigations
Build strong working relationships with customers and project partners
Contribute to continuous improvement of installation and operational procedures

What We’re Looking For

A recent graduate with a degree in Engineering, Physics, Computer Science, Geophysics, Electronics, Data Science, or a related STEM discipline
Strong interest in technology, sensing systems, or signal processing
Good analytical and problem-solving skills
Willingness to travel within the UK and internationally when required
Comfortable working both independently and as part of a team
Strong communication skills and a proactive attitude
Full UK driving licence preferred

Desirable Skills (Not Essential)

Knowledge of fiber optics, acoustics, or sensing technologies
Experience with Python, MATLAB, or data analysis tools
Understanding of signal processing concepts
Experience working on technical projects or placements
