We’re looking for an experienced Lead Fabricator to join our growing team in Renfrew.
This is a hands-on role within a small, busy workshop, ideal for someone who enjoys leading by example. You’ll spend the majority of your time fabricating and welding while helping to organise the day-to-day running of the workshop, maintaining quality standards, and supporting the team.

Key Responsibilities
- Carry out high-quality MIG and MMA welding.
- Fabricate structural and architectural steelwork from engineering drawings.
- Read and interpret fabrication drawings accurately.
- Lead, support and motivate a small workshop team.
- Plan and prioritise daily workshop activities.
- Inspect completed work to ensure it meets our quality standards.
- Assist with technical problem-solving and workshop organisation.
- Mentor junior fabricators and apprentices.
- Maintain a safe, clean and efficient working environment.
About You
You’ll have:
- Proven experience as a fabricator/welder.
- Strong MIG and MMA welding skills.
- The ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
- Excellent fabrication and workshop skills.
- A positive, proactive attitude and the ability to lead by example.
- High attention to detail and pride in your workmanship.
- A full UK driving licence (preferred).
