Full job description

Peaceful Place is a specialist dementia charity supporting people to remain active, independent and connected to their community. We focus on abilities, not limitations, helping every person attending our day centre to live a meaningful and fulfilling life. We believe everyone living with dementia or Parkinson's has the right to live their best life.

We are looking for volunteers to assist our members living with dementia to take part in the various activities we provide at our day centre including:

Arts & crafts - a new project is completed each week on Friday mornings.
Music therapy and choir - lively sessions where our members are encouraged to sing along, play musical instruments and dance if they wish to.
Yoga - a relaxing chair yoga session
Friendly discussion groups
Sports activities - these take place at local sporting and community venues.

Skills

You will need:

A kind, caring and patient nature
Excellent observation skills

We have a friendly and welcoming team here at the Peaceful Place day centre and we will support you as a volunteer if you choose to help us.

An enhanced DBS check is required for this role (we will cover the cost).

Please note: this is a volunteer position only and is therefore unpaid.
