Full job description

We are an established and fast‑growing international logistics company. Due to business expansion, we are looking for a dedicated Import Customs Clearance Clerk to join our team in Harmondsworth. This role requires strong attention to detail, good communication skills, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast‑paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

Handle UK import customs clearance procedures and documentation
Review commercial invoices, packing lists, airway bills, and other supporting documents
Submit declarations through CDS in accordance with HMRC requirements
Liaise with HMRC, airlines, freight forwarders, and customers to ensure timely cargo release
Classify goods using correct HS Codes and calculate duties and VAT
Monitor shipment status and provide updates to clients
Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with customs regulations
Assist with customs queries, inspections, and exceptional cases
Assist with other office administration tasks when required

Candidate Requirements

Minimum 1 year of experience in UK import customs clearance, and familiarity with ASM Sequoia is essential.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Good communication and organisational skills
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
Fluent in English; Mandarin is an advantage for communication with overseas teams
Competent with basic computer applications (email, Excel, data entry)
