We are a well-established woodworking company based in Weston-Super-Mare, and we're looking for an experienced Wood Machinist to join our team.
About the Role
You'll be responsible for machining a wide range of timber and sheet materials to a consistently high standard, ensuring accuracy, quality, and efficiency throughout the production process.
The successful candidate will be confident in interpreting technical drawings and measurements, setting up and operating a variety of woodworking machinery, and maintaining high standards of workmanship and safety.
We are a busy small business and we all work together to ensure the workshop runs efficiently. From time to time, you'll be expected to assist colleagues with general workshop duties, manual handling, and other production tasks as required. A flexible, positive attitude and willingness to support the wider team are essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Read and interpret technical drawings and measurements accurately.
- Set up and operate a range of woodworking machinery, including (but not limited to):
- Edge bander
- Table saws
- Spindle moulder
- RF (Radio Frequency) press/machine
- Other workshop machinery as required
- Help maintain an efficient workflow and contribute to the continuous improvement of workshop operations.
Qualifications/desirable skills:
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in wood machining.
- Physically fit (Able to carry out the physical demands of a busy woodworking workshop, including manual handling, prolonged standing, and moving timber and sheet materials safely)
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Work well within a team and independently.
- Willingness to learn and take direction.
- Health and Safety awareness.

Working Hours:
Monday-Thursday: 07:00-16:00
Friday: 07:00-12:00
Pay: £14.50-£16.27 per hour
