Full job description

Arthur Medical Centre seeks to appoint a qualified and experienced Practice Nurse with a Diabetes specialism, to join our busy forward-thinking Practice Team.

The successful applicant will be required to work 16 hours per week in accordance with existing rotas and will need to have some flexibility for possible cover for seasonal busy periods.

The successful applicant will have experience in long terms conditions, in particular Diabetes and related conditions. Experience in other chronic conditions such as CVD, CKD etc would also be ideal, but not essential.

Experience in cytology, ECGs, wound care, vaccinations and immunisations would also be advantageous.

Excellent clinical support is available from members of the nursing team, clinical pharmacist, ACPs and GPs.

Candidates must be suitably qualified and registered to work as a Practice Nurse in the UK. About Us

Our people: We are a highly innovative and friendly team, committed to supporting each other in delivering excellent patient care. We are a very supportive and sociable team who meet daily ‘the lunchtime huddle’ and have regular social events. The practice clinical team consists of four partners (three GP and one management), six salaried GPs, four practice nurses, two HCAs and a pharmacy technician. Our team is complemented and supported by other healthcare professions via our ICB and PCN including an additional HCA, ACPs, pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, physiotherapists, care coordinators and social prescribers.
Our patients: We have a list size of about 9000 patients, making us big enough to be efficient but small enough to care. We have a stable population allowing us to really know our patients and their families. We provide continuity of care and traditional cradle to grave medicine. Our person-centred care receives excellent feedback from our patients. 95% of patients who submitted an NHS England survey indicated a good experience and our patient satisfaction scores surpass ICB & national averages.
Our location: We are a single site practice situated in Horsley Woodhouse, a semi-rural locality surrounded by beautiful Derbyshire countryside, within easy commute of Derby and Nottingham. Our practice area covers rural and semi-rural locations including the villages of Kilburn, Horsley, Horsley Woodhouse and Smalley. There is a wide demographic range within our practice area.
