The role
Orbit are recruiting for a Community Hub Manager to join our team in working across all of our Orbit Sites to work within the heart of our communities, managing the day to day operations and future developments of our Community Hubs.
In this role the Community Hub Manager will lead the development, delivery and sustainable operation of Better Days Community Hubs across Orbit’s communities, ensuring they are welcoming, accessible and effective places where customers and local customers can connect, access support and participate in community activity.
The role provides strategic and operational leadership for the hub portfolio, balancing national consistency with local need and ensuring hubs deliver measurable community benefit, financial sustainability and alignment with organisational priorities.
This role can be based out of any of our Orbit sites - Coventry, Stratford upon Avon, Norwich, Erith, Kent or Hastings, and will involve travel to all sites (driving license and access to own vehicle, essential).
This role is part of our Customer directorate where you'll help us to lead the way in keeping our promise to more than 100,000 customers.
What you'll achieve

Develop and deliver a national Better Days Hub strategy that supports growth, sustainability, consistent delivery and measurable community impact.

Identify and progress opportunities to expand or improve the community hub network, including community buildings, green spaces and assets for local use.

Lead business cases, feasibility assessments and mobilisation plans for new hub locations, including input into planning for new Orbit housing developments where appropriate.

Secure and support funding, income-generation and partnership opportunities that improve long-term hub sustainability.

Support initiatives that reduce isolation, improve digital inclusion, strengthen community cohesion and improve customer wellbeing.

Lead, coach and develop Community Hub Officers and promote effective ways of working across the hub network.

Manage hub budgets and resources effectively, ensuring value for money and maximising the impact of available investment.

Work with communications teams to promote hubs, increase participation and share good practice across the network

Essential skills

Demonstrable experience of developing community venues, facilities, services or activities with local communities.

Experience of service development within a community, housing, public sector or voluntary sector setting.

Experience of leading teams and working across organisational boundaries to deliver shared priorities.

Ability to build effective networks and partnerships that improve customer and community outcomes.

Ability to manage budgets, resources and competing priorities effectively.

This is a national role and requires regular travel across Orbit sites, with occasional overnight stays.
