Location: North Somerset

Pay: Paid To Scale (MPS + UPS Available)

Type: Short Term, Fixed Term, Temp - Perm and Permanent Opportunities Available

Hours: Full-time and Part-time Available

Elementa is working with a number of secondary schools across North Somerset to recruit passionate and dedicated English Teachers for a range of permanent and long-term positions.

Whether you're an experienced teacher looking for a new challenge or an Early Career Teacher (ECT) seeking a supportive environment to begin your career, we'd love to hear from you.

Our partner schools are committed to delivering high-quality English education and are looking for teachers who can inspire a love of reading, writing and literature while helping students achieve their full potential. You'll have the opportunity to teach Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, with some roles also offering Key Stage 5 teaching.

We work with a variety of schools, from well-established community schools to academies, each offering supportive leadership teams, collaborative English departments and excellent opportunities for professional development.

The Role

Teach engaging and well-planned English lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4 (Key Stage 5 opportunities available in some schools).
Create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
Assess, monitor and support student progress.
Work collaboratively with colleagues to contribute to the ongoing success of the English department and wider school community.

We're Looking For

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
A passion for English and inspiring young people.
Strong classroom management skills.
Excellent communication and organisational abilities.
ECTs and experienced teachers are both encouraged to apply.

Weekly pay – no waiting for monthly payroll cut-off dates, Elementa pays one week in lieu.
PAYE contract – unless a candidate specifically requests it, all candidates are paid via PAYE giving them the protections and payment structure of a traditional employer:employee relationship.
Training & Support – a broad range of free or heavily discounted training available including Safeguarding, Behaviour, Team Teach, SEND, Makaton and Thrive. Regular welfare contact and support from a dedicated candidate manager.
Fair pay policy – our candidates are paid to scale, where a variation on this may be required written agreement will be provided ahead of the position.
Additional services to support our staff – we have a network of partners who offer support services to our candidates … tax returns, accountancy, legal and more.
