Job Description: CNC Milling Operator

The Company
Instrument Technology Ltd (ITL Vacuum) is a UK based business, manufacturing, sourcing and supplying ranges of Standard and Non-Standard Vacuum components, fittings and vessels within a range of industries utilising vacuum techniques. This includes Semi-Conductor, Research, Energy, Medical and general Industrial vacuum users.
Role
The successful candidate is likely to be apprentice or B-Tec trained with 3 years manufacturing experience. You will be responsible for our vertical milling centres (VMC) enjoy precision work and have an eye for detail.
Responsibilities
The key responsibilities of a CNC Milling Operator include:
· Using measuring equipment for quality control checks.
· Writing and editing CNC programs.
· Setting CNC milling machines (XYZ VMC’s).
The Person
The key skills and qualities of a CNC Milling Operator include:
· Knowledge of industrial machining techniques.
· Strong understanding of feeds, speeds, and tooling (including driven tools).
· Reliability, precision, and attention to detail.
· Ability to follow instructions.
· Flexible approach to work hours.
· Extensive knowledge of tooling, inspection techniques and machine shop best practice are essential.
· Understanding of Siemens control systems would be an advantage.
· An Engineering background is advantageous
· Vacuum industry tolerances and experience advantageous
· Ability to read and interpret technical documents and drawings
· Knowledge of & adherence to relevant health & safety standards
· Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
· Ability to work effectively under limited supervision
· Honest, reliable, hardworking and trustworthy
· Must be self-motivated and proactive
· A good communicator to ensure jobs are accurate, on time and of high quality

Mon - Thurs: 8.00am to 5.00pm
Fri: 8.00am to 4.00pm
