The Clinical Support Nurse scale is 6/SO1, starting at £33,603 rising to £39,276.
SWP have a varied workforce, including Police Officers and Police Staff, who can operate in highly stressful and complex specialist functions. Some specialist areas also include Firearms Officers, Hostage Negotiators, Dog Handlers, Crime Scene Investigators, and 999/101/Dispatch Control Room Operatives to name but a few. You will assist the department in delivering a range of activities including Eyesight, Hearing and Lung Function tests, Hepatitis B Vaccination and Blood test, as well as Preplacement medicals/activities and Safety critical medicals. You will be supported by a clinically trained Occupational Health Manager and other clinicians, with specialist qualifications and knowledge to support the delivery of the Occupational Health, Safety and Wellbeing department in a high-risk environment, setting and in maintaining appropriate standards for service provision and establishing effective systems of delivery.
You will have the opportunity to engage with many SWP individuals to gain a better understanding of what their roles entail in order that we can continue to deliver and develop our services proactively, as well as tailoring services to meet specific needs.
You must be a Registered Nurse and must have post qualification experience in a clinical setting along with proven ability to practically apply medical knowledge and experience within a complex organisation with specialist requirements. Previous Occupational Health experience or experience of undertaking any activities previously listed will also be desirable. The hours in Occupational Health are favourable and primarily cover Monday to Friday 9-5 with the added benefit of flexi leave, 24 days annual leave (increasing on service) and smarter working. Due to the nature of activities undertaken, you will be primarily required to attend the Occupational Health department in person most days. Some evening/weekend working may be required on very rare occasion and with prior notice.

The successful candidate must be willing to undergo vetting to MV/SC Level
