Full job description

Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and passionate Wok Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing and cooking authentic wok dishes, ensuring high-quality food presentation and flavour. This role offers an exciting opportunity to showcase your culinary expertise in a vibrant restaurant environment, delivering exceptional dining experiences to our guests.

Duties

Prepare and cook a variety of wok-based dishes according to established recipes and standards
Ensure all food is prepared in accordance with food safety and hygiene regulations
Manage ingredient stock levels, ensuring freshness and quality of produce used in meal preparation
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, including washing, sanitising, and storing utensils and equipment
Collaborate with team members to ensure timely service during busy periods
Assist in menu development by suggesting new wok dishes or improvements to existing recipes
Monitor cooking times and temperatures to guarantee optimal results for each dish
Adhere to health and safety guidelines at all times during food preparation and service

Skills

Proven experience in food preparation, cooking, or as a kitchen assistant within a restaurant environment
Strong knowledge of culinary techniques specific to wok cooking and Asian cuisine
Excellent understanding of food safety standards and hygiene practices
Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail
Good organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
Effective communication skills to work collaboratively within a team setting
Previous experience in meal preparation, serving, or restaurant operations is desirable but not essential
