Arborist Team Leader / Foreman
Location: Bridgend based
Salary: To be negotiated with performance bonuses
Job Type: Full-time or self employed
Hours: Monday–Friday, with occasional overtime

About the Role
We are looking for an experienced and motivated Arborist Team Leader / Foreman to join our growing team.
This is a hands-on role for someone who can lead a team confidently while maintaining high standards of safety, workmanship and customer service. You’ll be responsible for organising and overseeing arboricultural works on site, ensuring jobs are completed safely, efficiently and to a high standard.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise an arborist team on a variety of commercial and domestic sites
- Carry out tree surgery, pruning, dismantling and removal works
- Ensure all works are completed safely and in line with current industry standards
- Carry out site briefings, risk assessments and daily checks
- Operate and maintain arboricultural machinery and equipment
- Ensure PPE, climbing equipment and machinery are used correctly
- Communicate effectively with clients, colleagues and management
- Keep jobs on schedule and report any issues or additional work required
- Maintain a clean, professional and safe working environment
- Mentor and support junior members of the team
- Complete job sheets and other relevant paperwork
About You
The ideal candidate will have:
- Proven experience working as an arborist
- Previous experience leading a team or working as a foreman
- Strong knowledge of tree surgery and arboricultural practices
- Excellent health and safety awareness
- The ability to work independently and make confident decisions on site
- Good communication and leadership skills
- A professional and reliable attitude
- A full UK driving licence
- Relevant NPTC/LANTRA qualifications
Desirable qualifications include:
- CS30/31 or equivalent
- CS38 / aerial tree rescue
- CS39 / chainsaw from rope and harness
- Chipper and stump grinder experience
- MEWP experience
- PA1/PA6
- First Aid
