Health Education and Improvement Wales (HEIW) is seeking a dynamic and motivated individual with proven, hands-on experience in a primary care management role to join the Strategic Workforce Plan for Primary Care team as a Workforce Development Manager.
This national role will provide expert oversight and leadership for actions focused on the development of the primary care administrative and support staff workforce. It offers a unique opportunity to play a key role in shaping the future of this vital workforce across Wales.
We are seeking a candidate with strong primary care management experience who is enthusiastic, engaging, and committed to enabling Practice Managers and primary care teams to thrive. You will help staff feel confident, capable and well supported in increasingly complex and demanding roles.

Rolling out and embedding the Practice Manager Framework across Wales
Driving engagement and uptake across primary care
Developing and promoting training and development opportunities
Supporting succession planning and career pathways for administrative and support staff
Providing support to a workforce that is busy, stretched and central to service delivery
You will work at a strategic level, collaborating with stakeholders across Wales to deliver meaningful change and support workforce transformation.
